Easter Basket Ideas

I can't believe it is already almost Easter!
Have I mentioned yet how much I LOVE spring!?!
I think it goes back to my birthday being in April but still - I have always loved Easter time. {Maybe, I can blame that on the Christian in me too-the hope of new beginnings!}

Even got the mantle all decorated! I know I know St. Patrick's Day is first but I how could I resist this burlap banner!

My mom is probably the best gift giver you will ever meet. Ben and I call her Saint Cindy for multiple reasons, but man can she put together the perfect gift basket for any occasion. So, as you can imagine Christmas, birthdays, and yes Easter were always done up BIG in the McDaniel home. It was all I knew, so when Ben met me - boy was he in for a surprise.
I too like to go BIG for holidays.

Now, I dial it back a smidge since our kiddos are still too little too understand it is a "holiday" or expect anything but of course I know and wanted to get them Easter baskets from the Easter bunny!

I do not like to buy things for the sake of just buying them or to fill a basket. I really wanted to get the kids things they needed or could use!

I wish I could do all ages to help everyone but, like I always say "I can only give advice on mommin' to the age two and a half beyond that and I'm out!"

So this will be mostly toddler Easter basket gift ideas
And mama's I could not have made it easier! Click and buy while sipping your wine tonight and you could have ALL your Easter shopping done!!

 I started off first with these adorable baskets from Walmart, of course one blue and one pink!
 {I seriously do feel so blessed to have one of each. It's SO fun - can't believe I thought I never wanted a daughter!}

 I picked them up in store and they are in store purchase only but I did find a few other ideas. These bunny print ones are cute and seem really large to hold a lot of stuff or bigger items if you have older kids!! Or I like these colorful woven baskets

I like to get them the same thing just specific to their gender, I totally get that trait from my mom too!

I grabbed these Minnie and Mickey Mouse bubbles while returning something to Kohls. {Yup,  again we love bubbles in this house!}

Keeping with our Minnie and Mickey mouse theme I found these Melissa and Doug magnets for our fridge! Not sure why I do this to myself because we have about twenty under our fridge currently but the kids love playing with them while I'm in the kitchen cooking!

Like I mentioned in my spring toddler activities post, Ully has come to love play-doh so I found these play-doh eggs! Too perfect!
I picked up an adorable stuffed bunny for Miss Sawyer to replace Ulric's play-doh! Just so sweet and soft!

Since they are still too little still for a ton of candy. I put fruit snacks, yogurt, and yogi melts in their baskets instead! They also will do an Easter egg hunt at the local park and will get a ton of candy then! Another reason why I didn't buy plastic Easter eggs to put in their baskets - 1) I knew they couldn't open them on their own and 2) again we will be doing an egg hunt with them later in the month!

I decide to buy them new swimsuits because clearly neither of my them will fit into last years and we talked about taking them to an indoor water park when we go home! I even found Sawyer this adorable cover up! Both her swimsuit and cover up are by Carters but I purchased them at Kohls! And my mom found Ulric's Mickey Mouse trunks at Kohls too!
I will be doing a whole summer / beach must have list for kids in the next couple months and I will link them then!

I wanted to get them a little toy they could have in the car for when we go home next month. Fisher Price had this adorable Little People Rapunzel float for Sawyer and then found this Hot Dog Hot Rod with Mickey for Ully!

I ALWAYS like to get the kids a new holiday book too! We have a few of these books by Sandra Boynton and like them, so I found this cute Moo, Baa, LA LA LA book!
Sawyer is so curious these days so a Farm Touch and Feel book seemed perfect!

And if you currently do not own the book God Gave Us Easter - you must get it! It is just beautiful! And my kids love the colorful illustrations too!

Hope this helped with your to do list a little or at the very least gave you some ideas!
Do you have some fun Easter traditions! I would love to hear them!
I am working on planning ours since my brother, sister-in-law and nephew will be in town this year!

I will be making my mother-in-law's famous corn casserole! It is my favorite! Along with my moms AH-mazing cheesy potatoes! Think I should share the recipes!?

Hoppy {early} Easter from our family to yours!

xoxo
